Visual Textures has always been one of my most favorite elements of design, after color that is.
Textures are literally everywhere you see. Everything that we see around us has a surface, thus, a texture. Textures have a unique quality to spice up any random and boring composition.
And here is one basic little example..
While I waited in the parking plot, in my car, for the rains to subside, I was marveled by the play of the dripping water on my car window panes... I couldn't stop myself from capturing these...
